We’re delighted to be shortlisted for three prestigious CIPR PRide Awards (Anglia, Thames and Chiltern) for our campaign to promote free Libor-funded tours to Normandy for D Day veterans on behalf of our client, Remembrance Travel.
The campaign has been shortlisted for Best Consumer Campaign, Best Not-for-Profit Campaign and Best Low Budget Campaign. This year there were hundreds of entries to the CIPR PRide regional awards. The judging process was rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries.
Nichola Rowlands, Head of Remembrance Travel, says: “We were delighted to be awarded Libor funding from the Treasury. This has enabled all D Day veterans to return to Normandy free of charge. Thanks to Big Wave PR and our hard working team we’ve managed to take over 200 veterans their carers and families back to the beaches; it has been an emotional experience for all.”
Founder and Managing Director of Big Wave PR, Hilary Collins, adds: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for three awards! The campaign reached a wide geographic spread via TV, print and online. It has been an absolute honour to meet so many brave veterans and spread the word. Their true life stories are amazing!”
Remembrance Travel’s Libor funded tours are still available for D Day veterans, their family, friends and carers. To discover more, visit www.remembrancetravel.org.uk.
The winners of the CIPR PRide Awards will be announced at a gala awards event on 22 September at Homerton College, Cambridge.
